Old age home receives food from OBC Chicken and Meat

Tsakani Old Age Home residents receive food parcels.

Tsakani – OBC Chicken and Meat in Skycity donated food parcels to the value of R5 000 to the elderly at Tsakani Old Age Home on Monday.

Co-ordinator Ntabiseng Moremi says: “The company saw it fitting to donate to those who are struggling.

“This is an ongoing initiative whereby each store in the province will be donating food parcels to the value of R5 000 to non-profit organisations.

“We kick started our day by donating to the Greenfield Community Forum before coming to Tsakani.

“Tsakani Old Age Home manager Phoko Mongale says the donation will help to reduce expenses at the centre.

“We will be able to use our funds for other essentials, and we will be able to save for a dry season.

“The food will come in handy and will last us for some time.

“We would like to thank OBC Chicken and Meat for their generosity during this lockdown and for leading by example; not waiting for the government to do everything,” he explains.

The initiative was led by Moremi and OBC Chicken and Meat Skycity branch manager Thabo Modikwe.Moremi adds: “I grew up in Tsakani; therefore, this is personal for me to give back to the community which raised me.”
