Duduza alleged drug peddlers arrested for selling drugs to learners

Duduza police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka says the objective of the searches was to ensure there were no drugs or weapons within the school premises.

Duduza – Two men were arrested after a successful police raid at Nimrod Ndebele and Esibonelwesihle secondary schools on Tuesday morning.

They were arrested for possession of drugs and possible drug dealing during the police raid at the schools.

This followed investigations on drug peddlers who are selling drugs around the school premises.

The searche were joint operations by the Duduza police, EMPD K9 Unit, Gauteng Traffic Police, the Department of Community Safety, the youth desk, CPF patrollers and the Gauteng Department of Education east district.

Duduza police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka says the objective of the searches was to ensure there were no drugs or weapons within the school premises.

“This is to ensure there are no form of crime and that the culture of learning and teaching goes ahead without any fear or disruptions at schools.

“During the searches, we found knives, a toy gun, a Taser, dagga, drugs and cigarettes.

“The two will appear in the Nigel Magistrate’s Court soon,” he explains.
