A 30-year-old man was arrested for possession of drugs at the Top Centre Taxi Rank yesterday afternoon, says Springs Police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora.
While patrolling the Springs precinct, the police K9 unit noticed the man acting suspiciously at the taxi rank.
Without hesitation, the police approached the suspect and requested to search him.

They recovered 35 small packets of suspected drugs (nyaope) on the suspects with an approximate street value of R11 000.
The suspect was arrested immediately for possession of drugs and he was detained at Springs SAPS.

He will appear soon at Springs Magistrate’s Court for possession of drugs
Acting station commander Col Karel Stoltz applauded the members for their commitment and working with enthusiasm to apprehend the suspect, to make Springs a drug-free precinct and to weed out the criminals.
