Pholosong nurse attacker arrested

The perpetrator is seen going through her pockets before fleeing with what looks like her cellphone.

Tsakane – According to a statement released by the Gauteng Department of Health, the man, believed to be the one seen in a video circulating on social media pouncing and strangling a nurse at Pholosong Hospital, has been arrested.
The incident was captured on a CCTV footage at around 6.25am on Wednesday.
The nurse is seen walking through the corridor with the man walking behind her, he then pounced on her and strangled her to the point of rendering her unconscious.

The perpetrator is seen going through her pockets before fleeing with what looks like her cellphone.
In a statement released by the Department of Health in Gauteng on Wednesday, they confirmed that the man has been arrested.
Gauteng Department of Health Spokesperson, Kwara Kekana says the perpetrator was apprehended by the security personnel within the hospital premises.

“No patient or staff member’s safety should be compromised in our facilities.
“The security gaps in the facilities are unacceptable.
“We will engage all stakeholders concerned to find a workable solution.
“The staff member has been sent for counselling and is receiving medical care.
“She is recovering at home,” he adds.

Tsakane police spokesperson, Sergeant Lerato Mngomezulu confirmed that the suspect has been arrested and will appear at the Tsakane Magistrates Court on Friday.
