Another Pep store robbery in the CBD

After the suspects left, the cashier alerted a private security company that gave chase and one of the suspects was arrested.

A suspect was arrested shortly after a robbery at the Pep store on Second Street in the CBD last Friday morning.

Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says the cashier was working at the till when she was confronted by a suspect who was armed with a firearm.

The suspect demanded money which she handed over.

While the exchange was happening, the cashier noticed another two suspects guarding the door.

The suspects fled on foot.

After the suspects left, the cashier alerted a private security company that gave chase and one of the suspects was arrested.

Nothing was recovered from the suspect.
