Woman pushed into laundry room during break-in

After a while, the victim left the laundry room and ran to the neighbours opposite her house to get help, but found nobody home.

A woman was violently disturbed during her nap last Wednesday afternoon.

Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says the victim heard a loud noise coming from somewhere while she was lying down for an afternoon nap.

When she went to the front door, she was surprised by a suspect who kicked the door open.

She ran into the kitchen, but the suspect grabbed her and asked if there was a safe in the house.

The victim took the suspect to the main room, where another suspect was going through the cupboards.

After the safe was unlocked, the suspects took the jewellery from inside.

She was then taken to the lounge where she was covered with a blanket and she could hear the two suspects speaking to a third suspect outside the house.

She was then moved to the laundry room where the suspects closed the door and told her to count to 50 before coming out.

After a while, the victim left the laundry room and ran to the neighbours opposite her house to get help, but found nobody home.

She then got into her vehicle and drove to a shop, where she phoned her husband.

A plasma TV, Sony 6×2 sound system, three cellphones, jewellery, two laptops, a pellet gun, handbag, wallet, ID book, driver’s licence and R100 in cash were taken.

No shots were fired during the break-in and no injuries were reported.

Suspects gained entry to the yard via a small security gate that was forcefully opened, as well as a front security gate and wooden door that were also forcefully opened.
