Langaville residents can now take part in indoor sports at their new clubhouse

“We wanted to give the building to people who will help us keep our children off the street and train them in a sport that will help them defend themselves,”

Langaville – The concerned residents of Langaville Extension Eight have granted the Langaville Sector of Sport a venue which they intend to use for indoor sports.
Sports co-ordinator of the Sector of Sport Saki Kgapola says they are pleased to have this venue, which they will use for Tae Bo, karate and boxing.
“This is great for us as it helps us keep our youth healthy and occupied, which will help to prevent the use of substances and crime,” says Kgapola.

Concerned resident Bafana Dandala says the building was being used by other people, but because of the benefits that come with using it as a clubhouse, they have decided to let the Sector of Sport use it.
“We wanted to give the building to people who will help us keep our children off the street and train them in a sport that will help them defend themselves,” says Dandala.
Ivy Chauke, a qualified Tae Bo trainer, will be one of the coaches at the clubhouse.
“Tae Bo is not popular in the townships and this is a great opportunity for people to keep fit while having fun,” she says.
“It will also help the youth have something to do during the day,” she continues.

Karate coach Marupeng Khaletsane says the venue is great as two of his green belt students are from Langaville Ext Eight and had to travel to KwaThema for training.
“Two of my green belt students, Thagalo Segafa and Mohlasedi Maramane, had to travel to KwaThema to train, but now they can just come here to train, which is cheaper and safer for them,” says Khaletsane.
Kgapola says while the venue is open for use, they are still trying to raise funds to get more equipment.
