Total hosts mini-soccer tournament at Khombindlela Primary

“We ran a very successful tournament during Afcon and saw it would be a good idea to keep the momentum going while we engage with different learners from different schools. The winners today will be walking away with a R500 voucher which can be used at any Total Garage.”

Tsakane – Learners at Khombindledla Primary School were educated on road safety as Total South Africa hosted a mini-soccer tournament at the school.

The tournament is the continuation of a tournament they ran across all nine provinces, looking for top girl and boy soccer players.

Total event manager Ronwan Floris says the school visit is merely to engage with talented young players across South Africa, to inspire them while educating them about sports and road safety.

“We ran a very successful tournament during Afcon and saw it would be a good idea to keep the momentum going while we engage with different learners from different schools.

“The winners today will be walking away with a R500 voucher which can be used at any Total Garage.”

Khombindledla Primary principal Jones Mashaba says: “We feel extremely honoured because we can continue to celebrate Mandela’s birthday.

“The children are excited about Mandela as they continue to learn more about his legacy.”

Learners received goodies from Total, and there was a stage where others had the opportunity to show off their dancing skills.

Samson Ndlovu, event and sponsorship for Total, says: “We are here to celebrate Afcon and to say to the learners they must dream and dream big, and that nothing in life is impossible.

“We have been to 32 schools and have sent two learners to go and watch the Afcon semi-final in Egypt.”
