Dr Modisane hopes to inspire the youth of KwaThema

“This should serve as motivation for the youth in the township. Where we come from does not mean we cannot be great. We can do and be anything we want,” he says.

KwaThema – Dr Cameron Modisane (33), who recently graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in Accounting Sciences  degree,  says one’s background should never determine where they go in life.

The KwaThema resident, who obtained his PhD from the North-West University, says: “I grew up in the township and when the time came for me to go to university, there were no funds but thankfully, I got bursaries and was able to complete my education.”

The former Springs Boys’ High School learner says he has always enjoyed accounting.

“I have always enjoyed accounting and got top marks in high school, so the decision to go into accounting after high school was a relatively easy one,” he says.
