Here is what the locals of Kwatsaduza had to say about their funniest taxi experiences.

Kwatsaduza – Millions of people use public taxis daily to get around and go about their business.

And we have all heard, or at some stage in our lives experienced, something which we will always remember.

Here is what the locals of Kwatsaduza had to say about their funniest taxi experiences.

The most common one is that of a driver making a U-turn to the taxi rank because the money is short by R2 or R1.

Andile Saliso remembers the day when he was to write his final paper during his matric year. He says he would usually walk to school, but on that day he decided to use a taxi as it was raining and he didn’t want to be late for his paper.

He had his white pullover on when he suddenly felt wet on the side.

He turned to find a hole in the taxi where he could clearly see outside.

By the time he got to his destination, his uniform was wet and dirty.

Sibusiso Mncusi, a resident from Tsakane, shares a recent experience which occurred while on his way home on June 21.

“I was in a taxi on Friday night to Ndabezitha when this old drunk guy started yelling at me that he is in a relationship with an older woman because she has money, therefore age doesn’t matter.

“At the same time he had a packet of russian and chips, which he announced was for his wife at home; he was going to use it as a bribe for her to open up for him.”

Mongi Matyholo recalls when he first moved to Gauteng and was on his way to Alberton.

“I decided to explore the notorious city of Johannesburg. I took a seat in the front because I wanted to see some of the tallest buildings Africa has to offer. I couldn’t count change because back at home there’s a doorman who normally does that before the taxi even leaves the taxi rank.

“I was told to go sit at the back and as I was opening the door, it came off the hinges. I didn’t know what to do.”
