KwaThema police mourn the passing of WO Bernadette Labuschagne

“Many described her as a friendly and approachable person in the memorial service that was held today at the EMPD Training Academy in KwaThema."

KwaThema – WO Bernadette Labuschagne, who was stationed at the KwaThema Police Station, died on May 5 after a long illness.

She joined the SAPS on January 1, 1989, with pride and dedication. She served in Balfour SAPS in 1991.

She later moved to Johannesburg Central Police Station in 1992 and Brakpan SAPS in 1997, until she resigned in 2011 after 20 years of serving the community.

She was reinstated into the SAPS on January 1, 2016, and stationed in KwaThema SAPS until her death.

KwaThema police spokesperson Const Media Khoza says the station has lost an experienced, dedicated member.

“Many described her as a friendly and approachable person in the memorial service that was held today at the EMPD Training Academy in KwaThema.

“She will be missed for the role she played to ensure the safety of the KwaThema community and that of her colleagues,” she says.
