Giving pre-education new meaning

Ekurhuleni mayor Mzwandile Masina explained that investing in education is the city’s top priority and they plan on delivering more state-of-the-art and well-built centres.

Tsakane – The long awaited Early Chidhood Development Centre (ECD) of Excellence was launched on May 3 in Tsakane Extension Eight.

Ekurhuleni Mayor Mzwandile Masina was in attendance to officially open the ECD.

Ward 112 councillor Nomalanga Mnguni expressed how joyful she is about the opening as they had many challenges in building and restoring the community’s trust.

“It hasn’t been easy, but I am grateful and extremely proud of the work we have been able to do with the community of Tsakane. This is nothing new, as Ward 112 is known for developing our young ones,” says Mnguni.

The ECD will accommodate 120 children and has a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, five classes to accommodate a maximum of 20 children per class, a toddler section and an indoor and outdoor playing area.

Masina explained that investing in education is the city’s top priority and they plan on delivering more state-of-the-art and well-built centres.

“We aim to provide quality education at a young age because foundation is very important, this is to ensure the safety of our children and provide education that goes hand in hand with dignity and proudness because the children are our future and nurturing them is vital,” says Masina.

The ECD is now officially open for the public.

Parents are welcome to come and register their children. Registration fees will only be R300.
