Needy children receive new school bags in Langaville

Mpumelelo Yisizwe Community Development Organisation in partnership with Mpumelelo YeKasi donated about 50 school bags to needy children on Saturday.

Langaville – Mpumelelo Yisizwe Community Development Organisation in partnership with Mpumelelo YeKasi donated about 50 school bags to needy children on Saturday.

The managing director of Mpumelelo Yisizwe, Thuli Zondo, says the organisation develops and uplifts the community through skills transfer programmes.

“Today we have decided to give back to those learners who, we have noted, normally go to school without backpacks.

“You sometimes find them in the morning carrying their schoolbooks in plastic bags and so forth,” says Zondo.

The handover of the school backpacks took place at the sports ground in Langaville where the Easter Knockout Challenge took place.

A number of underprivileged children from Menzi Primary School were treated to new school bags by the organisation.

The Ekurhuleni municipality assisted in donating the school bags.

Although not all of them received new school bags, the children were very excited.
