Ward 80 councillor Wilson Busakwe says residents requested the collection of blankets for senior residents in the five voting districts in the ward.

“Every year leading to winter season, we collect blankets for those who are in need.

“We are happy that the contractor responded to our call to donate funds toward donating the blankets.

“We will be engaging with other local business people in the area to join the drive to ensure that many more senior residents are reached and kept warm.

“These are the important people in our community and they need us to join hands in making their senior years bearable,” he explains.

Beneficiary Gogo Emily Matloga says she is happy that she was one of the people who benefited from the initiative.
