Reigniting Ekurhuleni’s choral music vibrancy

A number of TSAs training sessions have been held around Kwatsaduza and continue in other parts of Ekurhuleni with the aim of empowering enlisted individuals on areas of understanding the choral market as well as effective optimal ticket-selling methods

Tsakane – After a long wait in anticipation, the Ekurhuleni Choral Alive Initiative (ECAI) was finally launched on Saturday at Tsakane’s All Souls Anglican Church.

The managing director, Tim Manana, says: “The company is formed for the purpose of coordinating a sound choral music program that will ensure the generation of sustainable income for unemployed choral music practitioners in Ekurhuleni.

The ECAI has streamlined a series of innovative music activities that are yet to come.”

ECAI is set to host a three-day event which is going to take place from June 7 to 9 at various Kwatsaduza venues.

“The Our Song, the Praise of God event aims to highlight the richness of scriptural content in much of choral repertoire and thereby present such compositions with the clear intent of praising and worshipping God; an element that is often not focused on during performances,” says Manana.

In line with ECAI’s goal of positioning choral music in the economic space, an innovative commission-based ticket selling machine has been developed to be driven by individuals from the choir, enlisted as ticket sales agents (TSAs), to ensure capacity audiences at ECAI events which will, in turn, optimise TSAs’ earnings.
