Suspect arrested for business robbery

Tsakane – 56-year-old man has been arrested on Monday for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Police reacted to the radio control call out for business robbery in progress at Square in Extension 11, Tsakane.

Tsakane police spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu says the security guard alleged that he was in the guard room with his colleague when they were attacked by three armed men.

“Police on arrival found the two security guards tied up in the guard room.

“The preliminary investigation led to the arrest of one suspect who was found in possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition around the scene.

“The other unknown suspects managed to flee the scene.

“They were unable to take anything from the mall or from the guards because of the quick response by the police,” she explains.

Mngomezulu is appealing to anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspects to report them anonymously on 10111.
