Man robbed of large sum of cash

“We are warning the community to refrain from withdrawing large sums of money and keeping it in the house."

Duduza – Police are investigating a case of house robbery after a group of men robbed a family of cash in the early hours of Saturday morning.

It is alleged that the owner of the house was on his was out.

After opening the gate to pull his vehicle out of the garage, four men walked into his yard and held him up at gunpoint, says Duduza police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka.

“They forced him back into the house where they demanded R38 000 in cash.

“They then fled the scene without firing any shots.

“No one was injured and police are investigating the matter,” explains Manake.

The police spokesperson says the suspects are unknown, but could be identified if seen again.

“We are warning the community to refrain from withdrawing large sums of money and keeping it in the house.

“Criminals can gain access to this information on the spot and follow you to your home where they will rob you.

“We are appealing to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of these men to contact Duduza police on 071 111 7027,” he adds.
