Burial club gives food parcels

In addition to food parcels and blankets, the club visits Chance Orphanage in Duduza to issue warm clothing to the children.

Duduza – The Sonqoba Simunye Men’s Burial Club from Duduza had their 15th annual handing over of food parcels on December 23, 2018.

The club, which also issues blankets in June, will be celebrating their 20th anniversary in September.

The club’s public relations officer, Mthetheleli Mini, says the club has these initiatives because it is their responsibility to take care of the needy in their community.

“It is our social responsibility in the community.

“The 92 members feel the club should not only focus on funerals, but should be uplifting the society too,” he says.

Mini says the growth of the club is not measured by the number of members, but by the amount of work they do in the community.

“We do not grow through numbers, but through work.

“In addition to the food and blankets, we visit Chance Orphanage in Duduza to issue warm clothing to the children,” Mini added.
