More than 80% pass rate for Duduza schools

The 2018 Duduza matric class managed to achieve more than an 80% pass rate.

Duduza – The 2018 matric class in Duduza managed to perform above the 80 per cent pass mark.

Asser Maloka Secondary School achieved an 83.6 per cent pass rate from the 110 learners who sat for their exams.

They received seven distinctions, 39 bachelor’s passes and 41 diploma passes.

School principal Medi Sehume says he is happy with the results and hopes they will be able to reach the 90 per cent mark this year.

“We are not proud of the number of distinctions we obtained, but we are hoping we see more learners achieve next year,” he says.

NN Ndebele Secondary School achieved an 82 per cent pass rate from the 179 learners who sat for their final year exams.

This is a 5.36 per cent improvement from the 2017 pass rate.

School principal Billy Mashiyane says they received 24 distinctions with 64 bachelor’s passes.

Thandi Sibeko Secondary School received an 80 per cent pass rate with three distinctions and 32 bachelor’s passes.

School principal Moyeni Skhosana says they saw 95 learners sitting for their exams with 76 learners who passed.

Esibonelwesihle Secondary School achieved an 83.4 per cent pass rate with 10 distinctions and 29 bachelor’s passes.

School principal Simphiwe Dintsi says the school saw 127 learners sitting for their exams with 106 who passed.
