Safety tips to help in attempting to prevent date rape

Date rape drugs render the taker unable to, in some cases, to speak or walk - as was seen in Leonardo DiCaprio's depiction of someone on Quaaludes in The Wolf of Wall Street.

In April 2018, actor Bill Cosby was found guilty of sexual assault after 60 women accused him of assaulting them.

In their testimonies, many of the victims say they remember feeling woozy and others blacked out.

Cosby admitted on record in 2005 that he bought Quaaludes with the intention of using them on women he intended to have sex with.

Methaqualone, the formal name for the drug, suppresses the central nervous system by slowing down the heartbeat and breathing.

This renders the taker unable to, in some cases, to speak or walk – as was seen in Leonardo DiCaprio’s depiction of someone on Quaaludes in The Wolf of Wall Street.

These effects are similar to those of Rohypnol, commonly known as Roofies, a popular date rape drug.
