KwaThema – Our Tango Dance School will be hosting a ballroom and Latin dance competition at the Soup Kitchen on December 9.

The competition will see local dancers showcasing their talent and skills on stage.

Dance instructor and founder of the school, Penwell Nhlapo, says the competition is aimed at motivating young dancers to participate in the sport.

After returning from abroad, where he furthered his career in dance, he decided to rebuild the school.

He believes there is potential for the development of excellent dancers from Kwatsaduza if they get proper training from a young age.

“With the high crime rate and social problems facing our communities, I believe keeping young people occupied through sports will motivate them to stay away from crime and bad company,” says the dancer.

Penwell is calling on those who are interested in participating in the competition to contact him on 083 681 3876.
