Help for young mothers in Ekurhuleni

“Those in need should reach out to us so we can help them to improve their lives.”

Kwatsaduza – Unplanned pregnancies can be a dread and life-changing experience for many women but with the help of Life Choices, many are able to rebuild their lives.

The non-profit organisation assists women who are pregnant and faced with a crisis such as an unplanned pregnancy, a loss of a child through stillbirth, miscarriage and/or abortion.

Founder of the organisation, Itumeleng Nombela, says they are an organisation that is aimed at empowering young women.

“We run programmes every Thursday which include antenatal sessions, child development and skills developmental progress.

“We also offer clothes and toiletries for both mother and child and also food, which is depending on availability,” she explains.

Nombela further explains they are not only givers but also lend a helping hand in equipping the young mothers with skills to better their lives.

“In this way, they are able to fend for their families while in the process of seeking employment.

“Most women are not really informed about such or don’t have anyone to assist them during the time of need and eliminating their financial constraints.

“Those in need should reach out to us so we can help them to improve their lives.

“Childbirth is not supposed to be the end of your life and there is life beyond this,” she says.
