KwaThema – Khumo Nkosi (9) continues to shine as she wins award after award in academic competitions.

“The child is really bright and we are under pressure to ensure she has a good environment to continue to flourish,” explains Phumzile Dunjana, Khumo’s class teacher.

The Grade Three learner from Thembalikazulu Primary School is awaiting the final results of the Mental Maths competition.

“She came out second in both the cluster and district levels of the competition.

“She received the ‘best learner’ award for life skills.”

Khumo won the ‘best girl’ award for the entire competition in 2018.

“We are really proud of her, and we hope her success will also encourage other learners to make an effort in their schoolwork.

“We are committed to supporting her, whatever she needs.

“Our kasi schools do not produce children learners like this all the time,” says Dunjana.
