Business seminar inspires young people

KwaThema – Feed a Brother held a skills enhancement seminar for aspiring entrepreneurs on Saturday.

The event was aimed to inspire young people to venture into business and to help reduce the increasing rate of unemployment in the country.

The seminar, held under the theme, “She is beauty and brains”, saw female business leaders share their ideas, and inspire the youth to focus on starting their own businesses, and be successful at running them.

The event organiser, Lebogang Paledi, says the event is aimed at inspiring young people to become entrepreneurs.

The event was attended by the local business people, with speakers such as Sibusiso Mafuyanduna, the founder of a private academy offering extra lessons in maths and science, delivering a talk.

The Nelson Mandela Children’s Foundation was represented by Katlego Kope.

“We decided to host this event with the aim of making a contribution towards bringing down the rate of unemployment through skills development, and inviting potential investors,” Kope said.

Local businesswoman Sekgametsi Lethiba offered to help the organisation to mentor young people to become successful business people.

“I will be hosting a development training programme which will come with a fully accredited certificate in business management from the second week of September.

“Through this training, and after completing the programme, the participants will receive a seed capital of R12 500 to start their own businesses.

“We are encouraging as many young people to enrol for this opportunity to turn their life around,” she says.
