KwaThema – The body of an infant was found by a resident who was collecting recyclable materials in the veld next to Joe Nzimande Street, Nafcoc Section, on Monday.
It is alleged the man saw a white plastic bag and when he opened it he saw another green plastic bag and saw the body of a baby inside.

KwaThema police spokesperson Warrant Officer Peter Tibeila says the man stopped an ambulance which was passing by to notify them of the discovery.
“The police were also called to the scene and the paramedics certified the baby dead on the scene.
“The police are investigating a case of murder and no one has been arrested.

“We are calling on anyone who knows of someone who was pregnant and gave birth, but the baby is nowhere to be found, to please inform the police on 071 111 5233,” he says.
