‘FBI’ donates food and clothes to the poor

“We are trying to revive the spirit of Ubuntu.”

KwaThema- Feed A Brother Initiative (FBI) donated food parcels and clothes to the poor families on Saturday.

The initiative was part of their winterthon drive and to help make a difference in the area.

William Dutata says they identified that there are many people in the area forced to go to bed on an empty stomach.

“Through door-to-door visits we identified the families that needed the assistance.

“We decided, as young people, to help make a difference to ensure this is a thing of the past.

“In March last year we approached different mainstream stores to donate to help make the initiative a success,” he says.

William says we are not living in a perfect world, and there’s never going to be a perfect time to give but there are always people out there in need of every little bit of help.

“We are trying to revive the spirit of Ubuntu.

“We are aiming to grow the organisation for the community of KwaThema to benefit.

“We are calling on residents who are interested in making the donation to come forward and help make the initiative a success,” he says.
