KwaThema – It is alleged the woman was awoken by a man sitting on top of her holding a knife.
The woman was visiting her cousin.
KwaThema police spokesperson Captain Thabo Sibuyi says it is alleged the suspect ordered the victim to take off her clothes.

“He threatened to stab her with the knife if she tried to scream or refuse to take off her clothes.
“He pulled out a condom and repeatedly raped her through the night,” he says.
Sibuyi says through police investigations it was discovered the suspect tried to kill himself by drinking a poisonous substance.

“He was rushed to the local hospital for medical attention and will appear in court as soon as he is discharged,” he says.
