KwaThema – Organiser Thozani Dhladhla says the aim is to inspire and empower Grade 12s as they prepare to step into the adult world.
“The motivational seminar is mostly about changing the mindset and the notion that township schools do not produce excellence, they do not produce greatness.
“That is why we are bringing speakers together who are great and successful in their respective fields yet some have lived in townships and attended township schools.”

All Grade 12s from KwaThema, Tsakane and Duduza are invited.
He says the seminar is to encourage the learners to dream beyond their background.
“This will only happen if they are determined, dedicated and disciplined in their studies
“The topics that will be covered are role models, conquering matric, careers and tuition, tertiary lifestyle, education and entrepreneurship.
“We also have prizes like matric farewell sponsorships and books.”

They will also award Grade 12 Mid-Year Top Learners and Teachers’ Lifetime Achievement awards.
The attendees will receive practical advice and tips into dealing with subjects they normally struggle with during exams and passing matric.
The event will take place at 10am at KwaThema Hall on Saturday.
