Professional hairdressers offer even more help

Professional hairdressers continue to give aspiring hairdressers the benefit of their own experiences in the industry.

KwaThema – After bringing experts together, Thandi Nkosi says they have discovered even more ways to help young entrepreneurs in the industry.

“We recognise the special talents of many young people in Kwatsaduza.

“A lot of them really know how to do hair, but they lack certification.

“We want to help them learn what they need to know to turn their talents into good businesses.”

She says many of the young hairdressers struggle to secure funding from government entities because they lack proper documentation.

“We are working on registering with Seta so that the hairdressers can access grants.

“It all comes down to compliance.”

Thandi says with the combined experience of the professional hairdressers, most of who are salon owners, will help mentor those who would take full advantage of it.

“After the first workshop, we realised how many people actually needed our help.

“It is really overwhelming but we are up to it.”

She has since sought help from more professional hairdressers in Kwatsaduza and Tebello Mosese is one of them.

The founder of Lady T Hair and Beauty academy says the platform to train and mentor young people is there.

On June 24 the experts invite more aspiring hairdressers to KwaThema Stimulation Centre (opposite KwaThema Sport Complex) at 9am.

“Please bring a comprehensive CV with copies of qualifications if you have any,” adds Nkosi.
