Springs scout from Tsakane jets off to America

Thembinkosi Machaba left South Africa last Monday evening to start his new adventure.

He flew to South Dakota in the United States where he will start off as a staff member of the American Boy Scouts for two months.

“After that, he will start at university where he will be studying for a Bachelor of Science degree,” says one of Themba’s Troop Scouts, Melissa Campbell.

His two Troop Scouts, Kylie Miller and Melissa, surprised him at the airport to say goodbye.

“We wish Themba all the best with his new adventure and his university studies.

“Themba has really been an inspiration to so many Scouts at Springs Central as well as in his hometown, Tsakane,” she says.
