Cousins robbed at gunpoint in KwaThema

“They took R1 900, a cellphone and other valuables in the house and drove off in the vehicle that was parked outside.”

KwaThema – Police are searching for three men in connection to a house robbery that took place at a home in Mabaso Street on Sunday.

It is alleged the victim, Casimiro Cumbi (31) was walking home with his cousin and passed a blue vehicle parked outside their yard.

KwaThema police spokesperson, Captain Thabo Sibuyi, says the two walked to their rented backroom but before they knew it they were approached by three armed men.

“They were forced inside the house and instructed to lie down on the floor.

“The men continued to search them and the house was stripped of their valuables.

“They took R1 900, a cellphone and other valuables in the house and drove off in the vehicle that was parked outside,” says Sibuyi.

He added no one was injured and no gunshots were fired.

“We are calling on residents not to carry large sums of money on them because this poses a threat and attracts criminals.

“The suspects have not being arrested to date, and we are calling on residents who might know their whereabouts or any information that could help the police, to come forward,” he says.
