First Creative Talks held to help residents grow their business creatively

Enkambini Creatives, in partnership with Wolf and Co. Café, hosted their very first Creative Talks on Saturday.

Tsakane – Peggy Ntepe, co-founder of Enambini Creatives, says although there are many creative entrepreneurs in eKasi, most do not have the ‘know how’ to sustain their businesses.

“Most creatives just want to be stars and be popular.

“But they seldom take care of the actual business side of things, they lack business savvy.”

Enkambini Creatives is a research company that has moulded its self as an engagement vehicle for entrepreneurs in Ekurhuleni.

“Even the most basic information like target market and swat analysis aren’t done properly,” she adds.

The purpose of the talks is to help entrepreneurs to use the information they have effectively and to educate those who need a lot more information.

“It is okay to say ‘I don’t know’, you will get the answers you need.”

The company has completed a series of research that looked in depth into the business and entrepreneurial landscape of the township economy.

“Our focus is to develop programmes that will not only help the entrepreneurs but also drive business growth in Ekurhuleni.”

She says this includes key stakeholders in business and government.

“Some of the key themes we’ve discovered and would like to address are community aspiration, economic development, human capital and access to information, among others.

“The space and opportunity in a robust and industrial landscape such as Ekurhuleni are vast and ample for entrepreneurs to exploit and to grow their businesses and the local economy at large.”
