Excelling learners pay it forward

Learners who excel come together to form tutoring group to help others excel.

KwaThema – After being excluded from registering at the tertiary institutions of their choice, these six learners have chosen to use their knowledge to serve their community.

The learners were all in Grade 12 last year and they passed with flying colours.

Tumelo Ngwenya, who was at Nkumbulo Secondary School, passed with a level six in physical science and a level five in mathematics.

Aphiwe Ngubeni from Tlakula Secondary passed with a level seven in physical science and a level six in mathematics.

Charlniy Muzondo was the top learner at Tlakula in 2017.

He passed with five distinctions, attaining a level seven in both mathematics and physical science.

Simamukele Booi from Nkumbulo Secondary School passed with a level five in mathematics and a level six in physical science.

Ayanda Mtshali, one of Lefa-Ifa Secondary School’s top learners in 2017, passed with a level six in accounting and a level seven in mathematical literacy.

Sihle Simelani, a top learner at Zikhethele Secondary School in Devon, passed with a level seven in mathematics and a level six in physical science.

“They have decided to be of value to the community by offering tutoring to maths and science learners with my help,” explains Ntsane Masiloane, founder of the Ntsane Masiloane School Enrichment Programme.
