The Worst is Never the Worst challenges community to discuss mental illness

Nhlanhla Ndaba, founder of The Worst is Never the Worst Foundation, will host an ‘It’s not always easy’ workshop on Saturday.

Langaville – After dealing with depression in her own life, Nhlanhla has been committed to helping others speak out and get help.

“Life has its challenges and it is often difficult for some to adapt to their situations,” she says.

The organisation is inviting people who have trouble coping with the blows they have been handed to attend the workshop.

“From people who have mental illness, to people who have not been diagnosed but who suspect they may be depressed, we want them to come,” says Nhlanhla, who was recently ordained as a chaplain for the metro.

“Our intention is revive hope by bringing people who have survived these challenges.”

She says it is important for people to realise that there is always a way out, instead of feeling helpless.

“We have reserved the whole month to focus on mental health issues.

“We want people to come out in numbers to support those who do have mental illness.”

The workshop will take place at 2pm on Saturday at Gospel Healing Church, 359 Embokodweni Street, Langaville.
