Miss Eagle candidate to empower women

Ntando Magaisa is fighting for the crown of Miss Eagle South Africa 2018.

KwaThema – The 24-year-old beauty is a part-time model and studying towards a degree in mechanical drawing.

Ntando says she decided to enter the pageant to help to empower young women in the country.

“The pageant’s main objective is to empower women and this is what I believe in.

“It is heartbreaking to see young women struggling to find their feet and have a voice.

“They end up dating sugar daddies and becoming teenage mothers while others take drugs and are prostitutes.

“I believe if there are young women like myself who are coming out to motivate others, it will help fight the scourge.

“These young women need role models,” she says.

Ntando says she is currently working with different orphanage centres.

“I collect clothes, food and second-hand books for the centres.

“Through these initiatives I know I am playing a part in making a difference in someone’s life,” she says.

She says she is planning to open a centre for the victims of human trafficking.

“The victims often don’t have people they can talk to and to deal with the trauma that they have been through.

“Some of the services are not accessible in the rural areas and townships and it can be expensive to travel to seek help.

“I want them to have someone to talk to whenever the need arises and get back on their feet,” she says.

To vote for her SMS Ntando to 35334 and it cost R2.
