Youth leadership network ready to inspire young minds

Former Activate! participant Sandile Tsie encourages the youth of Kwatsaduza to take full advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Kwatsaduza – Youth leadership network Activate! is calling socially-motivated young leaders who want to play a role in developing South Africa to apply for its 2018 intake.

“Joining the network involves participating in a two-module, residential and part-time training programme that starts from February to December 2018,” explains Sandile Tsie, former participant and Activate! representative.

He says that Activate! is a network of young leaders in their 20s with a common vision of a positive future for South Africa.

“Currently, the network has more than 2000 members.

“Members of the network call themselves Activators and they come from all nine provinces, races, and religions.”

He adds that some are employed, students, campaigners, unemployed or volunteers.

Anyone who is interested in becoming an Activator needs to be between the ages of 20 to 30 years, actively involved in community development activities and must display leadership potential.

“Being part of the Activate! network is a life-changing experience.

“It opens the doors for one to participate in cutting-edge training on innovation, problem-solving and leadership residential training programme.”

He says all they expect is a commitment to activities and home tasks as required during the training programme.

“These include attending residential training (16 contact days in total) delivered in two modules over the course of one year.

“Some assignments will require working in groups via social media and some will completed on their own,” he says.

Anyone can express their interest by dialling *120*12000*1# (40c per session), by February 10.
