Brought together by music, Rabs Vhafuwi and Mr Mo, have, after a few years of working together, decided to part ways.
The duo, who recorded and released Walking Away, with Mr Mo on the vocals and Rabs Vhafuwi on the beat, have decided to part ways, stating irreconcilable differences as the reason.
Walking Away managed to captivate audiences across the country and later abroad when it debuted on UK’s The Beat 103.6 FM. The music video premiered on ‘Turn Up’, a music show presented by Siyabonga Ngwekazi on Channel O. Mr Mo later signed with Rabs Vhafuwi’s Freeze The Moment label, which released his debut album Destiny. Destiny featured hit songs such as “Dream Chaser” and “Tears Dried Out”, both which did very well on Naked DJ and Lulo Café’s Audiogasm radio show on Metro FM. As with Walking Away, Rabs Vhafuwi produced while Mr Mo sang. They have since decided to call it quits citing irreconcilable differences.
On his new song, Wena Fela (Only You) Mr Mo enlisted a new producer called Shavi.
Mr Mo wrote the song with lovers in mind.
“I’ve never really released a love song before, my followers know me to be deep, motivational and soulful with my lyrics and vocals so I knew it would be a pleasant surprise if I released a love song but yet still being consistent with my song writing and vocals from previous releases.”
Wena Fela (Only You) is the first single from his second album, titled PHOENIX, to be released later this year. It will be released under a new label called Moon SA Record, which he registered after he broke up with Rabs Vhafuwi’s label, Freeze The Moment. “It just made more sense for me to start releasing through my own label,” he says.
