Announcing a pageant for music lovers

Daitonic Family and Bhungane Modelling havemerged music and pageantry to create a competition like no other.

KwaThema – Daitonic Family and Bhungane Modelling have combined music and pageantry to create Mr and Miss Diatonic, a competition like no other.

Bhungane Modelling was established by Xabiso Skiti in 2006, when he saved his lunch money to host Mr and Miss Best Model, and since then the venture has been a test of his patience and discipline. “I have always loved modelling and my own experience as a model has made it easier for me to lead others in the industry,” says Xabiso.

Xabiso’s partnership with Tebogo ‘Bunny’ Nyathi and Linda Tokhwe was sparked when the Daitonic musical duo began looking for ways to step out and do something creative for their brand.

“The group was established in 2013 and although we have been composing and recording, we are only preparing for our debut album now,” explains Bunny.

Linda says that while they were brainstorming ways to make the brand a household name, they were inspired to create a pageant.

“We met with Xabiso, to merge our music with a pageant and create something unique.”

Xabiso says that unlike any other beauty pageant, Mr and Miss Diatonic will draw a lot of inspiration from music.

“We are hoping to attract contestants who are music lovers.”

One of the prizes for the Mr and Miss Diatonic winners will be a guaranteed spot in the music video of one of the group’s singles next year.

The first round of the competition will take place on January 25 and 26, followed by a second round on February 2 and 3.

Anyone interested in auditioning for the competition can send a WhatsApp text with their name and surname, age, and a half and full-length photo, to 071 952 4049.
