Duduza – Members of the SAPS Provincial Investigation Unit confiscated dagga worth R60 000 in the early hours of Friday.
It is alleged the police received a tip-off from the community that people at house number 388 Kambule Street, Duduza were dealing in dagga.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Harry Manaka says the police responded to the tip-off and managed to enter the house in the early hours of the morning.
“They found a 42-year-old man inside the house and continued to search the house,” Manaka says.
“They found bags containing dagga in three different rooms in the house.
“The dagga was said to have been delivered an hour before the police arrived at the house,” he adds.
“Dagga to the value of R60 000 was recovered.
“All the role players in the crime unit were called to the scene.”
Manaka says the man was arrested and has appeared in the Nigel Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of dagga, dealing in dagga and drug trafficking.
“He is remanded in police custody,” he says.
