Police hunting for murder suspect

KwaThema – A 37-year-old man was shot and killed by an unknown man along 6430 Jumbo Street, Tsakane on Wednesday morning.

It is alleged the suspect was wearing a balaclava.

Tsakane police spokeswoman Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu says the victim died on arrival at the hospital.

“It is alleged that the deceased and his fiancée arrived home at 11pm and parked inside the yard.

“They both decided to sit in the vehicle when they were attacked by the suspect,” Mngomezulu says.

“The suspect shot the deceased and demanded cash and cellphones from the fiancée and an amount of plus-minus R1 000 was taken from them.”

Mngomezulu urges residents with information to come forward and assist the police with the investigation.

“Police are working around the clock to bring the suspect(s) to book.”
