Robbers steal woman’s (61) car in KwaThema during house robbery

“They gave back all the cell phones and laptop but took a TV and the complainant’s vehicle and drove away."

KwaThema – Three unknown men robbed a 61-year-old woman during a house robbery at her home in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

It is alleged the woman was sleeping when she was woken up by the noise inside her house.

KwaThema police spokeperson, Captain Thabo Sibuyi, says the victim saw three unknown men in her bedroom.

“Her daughter who was sleeping with her also woke up.

“One suspect kept guard of the two victims while the other two went on to wake up the complainant’s brother.

“They demanded cash which the victims didn’t have but went on to take their cell phones and car keys,” explains Sibuyi.

Sibuyi says the trio allegedly told the complainant they were sent to kill her.

“They gave back all the cell phones and laptop but took a TV and the complainant’s vehicle in which they drove away.

“Inside the vehicle were clothes and shoes which were to be sold in KwaZulu Natal.

“A case of house robbery is being investigated by the local police.

“No arrests have been made and by the time of publishing, the vehicle – a Mercedes Benz with registration number FS 25 WF GP – had not yet been recovered.

“Anyone with helpful information, can contact KwaThema Detectives on 011 812 4600,” he says.
