Police urged to go back to basics

“I know it is not always easy but we should all be one family no matter what, family members fight but they still have each other’s back.”

KwaThema – Staff members at KwaThema police station attended a team building session Modderbee Club House last Thursday.

The session was held to promote unity and team work amongst all members.

KwaThema police spokesman, station commander Col Elsie Malapane, says the event was also held to thank the officials for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.

“We also wanted to reward and show appreciation to members who have worked hard at the station and within the community.

“It is important that the police have a good working relationship to be able to work together and protect each other while conducting their duties.

“Let us all look back at where we went wrong and how to rectify it and when we go back home, remember that we are a family.

“I know it is not always easy but we should all be one family no matter what, family members fight but they still have each other’s back,” she says.

Malapane urged the police to go back to basics and remember the oath they took of protecting the community.

“It is important when you see another member fall to go back and help lift that person up, so they can grow and become an even stronger team,” she says.
