KwaThema – A 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with the murder of Welile Maqutho (18) on Friday evening.
It is alleged the incident took place at the deceased’s home where the police and paramedics found the deceased in a pool of his own blood.
KwaThema police spokesman, Captain Thabo Sibuyi, says the deceased was stabbed in the chest.
“It is believed the deceased found the accused, who is apparently in a relationship with his sister, talking to his sister (24), inside the house.
“He asked the accused to leave but he refused to listen.
“The other brother also pleaded with the accused to leave but he still refused to.
“The couple then moved outside but seemingly the accused refused to go out of the yard and that’s when a fight broke out,” he says.
Sibuyi says the accused left and returned after a while and another fight ensued.
“The accused pulled out a knife and stabbed the deceased.
“The young man was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.
“The accused made a brief appearance on Monday at the Springs Magistrate’s Court.
The case has been remanded for further investigation,” he says.
