KwaThema – Kasi Primary School learners participated in a life skills and athletics competition at Laerskool Dunnottar.

The theme of the competition was how harmful or harmless insects are to humans.

James Nkosi Primary School educator, Thembi Chaphole says the aim of the competition was to develop learning through play and to encourage learners to enjoy the life skills lesson.

“Learners from over 20 schools participated in the competition.

“They were categorised into priorities ( public school ) and non-priorities ( private schools).

“Under the priorities categories, position one was taken by Laerskool Hannes Visagie, followed by Nigel Primary School and Alrapark Primary School.

“The non-priority schools were Alrapark Primary School, Roseview Primary and Sibonisiwe Primary School,” she says.

Meanwhile, learners from Duduza Primary School participated in the cross-country athletics competition at James Nkosi Primary School.

“Thirteen schools with over 200 athletes participated in the race.

“The winners received medals for their participation.

“The winners will proceed to district level, which will take place on August 25.

“We are proud of the learners for showing off their skills.
