Man found shot, dead behind the steering wheel in KwaThema

“The front passenger seat and the driver’s door had three bullet holes with the driver’s window also shattered.”

KwaThema – Police are investigating a case of murder following the brutal killing of Mhlaliseni Mchunu (32).

It is alleged on Thursday the police received a tip-off from the community about a shooting at the Ekuthuleni Informal Settlement.

KwaThema police spokesperson Captain Thabo Sibuyi says they found the victim seated in the driver’s seat of a green Toyota Conquest along Mvuleni Street.

“His chest was resting on the steering wheel and he had suffered several bullet wounds to his body.

“The driver was wearing a blue jacket, black tracksuit pants and a pair of takkies.”

Sibuyi says there were three bullet holes in the front passenger seat and the driver’s door, and the driver’s window was also shattered.

“The motive for the killing is not yet known, so we are pleading with the community to please come forward with information that can help us in solving this case.”
