Last Friday Reach For Life Support took time to hang with amajita at Cosira Corner to encourage them not to give up on their dreams in spite of their circumstances.
Tsakane – Last Friday Reach For Life Support took time to hang with amajita at Cosira Corner to encourage them not to give up on their dreams in spite of their circumstances.
Siphiwe Ngwenya (32), owner of Cosira Car Wash in Extension 15 and a barbershop, says most of the guys he chills with during the day are really passionate about entrepreneurship.
“We want to open businesses because most of us finished school but we can’t get jobs.
“We just don’t know where to start.”
He believes with the proper guidance, most of them would be successful businessmen.
“Amajita responded well to the advice they were given,” he says.
Mthuthuzeli Skosana, founder of Reach for Life, says they are committed to helping the young men find their path in life.
“Some of the guys are former convicts, and they struggle to be integrated back into society.
“The last thing we need is for them to go back to their old criminal ways,” he says.
Reach For Life Support is committed to educate or empower communities about interventions on social ills, and to participate in engaging young people.
Twenty-two-year-old Thabang Dlamini, owner of Thumamina Flambouyant Courier Service, encourages the guys to dream big.
“I started my business in January and it has been doing quite well,” he says.
“Most of the time the youth is motivated by old people but I think if they see a young person like me they will believe it’s possible.”
The team then provided soup and bread.
“We can’t just talk to them and give them nothing tangible,” explains Skosana.
