Thugs break shop wall, steal money and phones

Two men broke into a tuckshop in KwaThema and demanded money from the owner.

KwaThema – On Thursday, at about 2am, a shop in White City was broken into and the suspects fled the scene with R2 500.

Police spokesperson Capt Thabo Sibuyi explains the shop owner (32) was asleep and woke up when he heard people hammering on the walls of his tuck shop.

“When he woke up, he saw two males with tools breaking the wall.

“They managed to gain entry into the shop, demanded money and stole two cell phones before fleeing the scene,” he says.

Sibuyi says the police are investigating a case of business robbery and no arrests have been made.

“We are calling on anyone with information to contact the KwaThema police on 011 812 4608,” he says.
