Local business gives back in celebration of Youth Day

Tsakane – A local business is celebrating Youth Day by giving back to the community that has supported it over the years.

“We have identified four families around the business who are in great need of a helping hand.

“We will purchase groceries for them, which will contain household necessities,” explains Andile Giggs of ECentre Management.

The business has identified the need, through the rehabilitation and reintegration of former addicts, for change in the community regarding substance abuse, especially nyaope.

It has seen how substance abuse affects not only the addicts but those around them.

“Our aim is to provide the platform to empower young minds and young talent through music.”

ECentre is inviting the community on June 16 to celebrate the successes of the youth of 1976 and the strides being made by today’s youth to honour those successes.

“We are celebrating June 16 with an event called Youth Fest, with influential musicians such as the legendary DJ Christos, MoFlava and Lulo Café. Through the initiative we will be raising some funds to give to selected families neighbouring the business.”

Thabo Mathe of ECentre Management says: “We can only hope that our small effort makes a big difference in the lives of those we are trying to help.

“We are celebrating the sacrifices made by the youth of 1976 by empowering the youth of Tsakane.

“We would not be here if the people had not supported us through the years.”
