Foundation’s sole purpose is to keep girls in school

Foundation helps keep girls in school by offering them much needed sanitary pads.

KwaThema – Kingdom Purpose Foundation (KPF) donated sanitary pads to girls at KwaThema Primary School last Friday.

The non-profit organisation aims to help the community socially and economically.

“We are running a project named Keep a Girl Child at School,” explains Busi Mnguni, founder of the organisation.

“The project reaches out to young girls from disadvantaged families to ensure they don’t miss school because they cannot afford sanitary pads.

Principal Marcus More adds this initiative will have a great impact on the lives of many of the girls.

“Most of the learners come from informal settlements around the school and we know they cannot afford sanitary pads and, as a result, many don’t come to school.”

“We are also aware, through the cleaning staff, that the materials some girls are using are not hygienic.”He says the project will also encourage girls to participate in sport and not feel the need to hide away.

KPF is appealing to the community for donations of sanitary pads in order to help more girls.

“We are really grateful to the people who have helped us,” adds Mnguni.
