Social club changes young matriculant’s life

KwaThema - Members of Kuso Kutlwano Social were proud and pleased when one of their beneficiaries, Siyamcela Sambatha, recently thanked them for affording him a chance at tertiary education.

The social club assisted Siyamcela with registration fees for the University of North West in 2013 and today he is a graduate.

Social club representative Sandile Roro says after passing his matric, Siyamcela, who is an orphan, could not afford to register at university.

“He didn’t know which doors to knock on to seek help so he approached us for assistance, after he learned about our social responsibility initiatives from the community.

“We were touched by his story and how well he performed in matric.

“We could not turn him down because we feared for his future if he didn’t get the help he needed,” Sandile says.

“We are happy he kept his word that he would focus on his studies and graduate if we assisted him.

“We are also happy we could improve the life of another child in the community to better his life,” he says.

Siyamcela was emotional when he explained how the organisation improved his life.

“If it wasn’t for Kutlwano Social, I don’t know where I would have ended up in life.

“I would probably not have had an opportunity to go to university.

“I am where I am today because of the group and I pray many more people will join them to help more people in the community,” he says.
